Whitbys CFF ready to celebrate field to fork eating

Harvest time will soon be here, and students form Whitby’s W. Galen Weston Centre for Food (CFF) will be holding a special celebration that will showcase all they have learned about field to fork cooking.

The students will be hosting a harvest dinner that will give the public a chance to gain personal experience with the CFF’s vision of what field to fork dining is all about. It will showcase locally grown ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, herbs and meat, all of which will be combined to craft both new dishes and some that have been long standing favorites in the area. It will also serve to build a sense of community and celebrate all it has to offer. Souvenir wine and beer glasses and other custom Drinkware can be prepared to give to each guest as a memento of their participation in an event like this.

Proceeds from the occasion will be used to help fund scholarship programs that assist CFF students in pursuing their post secondary educational goals. It is the first institution in the Durham region to teach field to fork principles to the students in its culinary, hospitality and farming programs.

The Harvest Dinner will be held on September 21st at 1604 Champlain Avenue in Whitby. Tickets have been priced at $125.00 each, and more information can be found on the CFF website.
