After a successful first edition, the Home Sweet Home Festival will return for a second engagement in downtown Whitby this July.
The festival will open up the streets of downtown Whitby to pedestrians, as well as booths and stalls by local businesses. Visitors can explore vendors from the Whitby Farmers’ Market, Station Gallery’s Artisan Marketplace, and various members of the Whitby BIA. Exhibitors at street festivals like this often use business cards and promotional items to make long-lasting connections with customers.
The event will also include activities for the whole families, such as a 300-foot zipline and a trackless train that takes visitors to and from different parts of the celebration. The festival’s main stage will feature live music and cultural performances representing local creativity.
The Home Sweet Home Festival kicked off last July with the intent of celebrating the community and heritage of Whitby, including historic walking tours and activities at the Lynde House Museum. The Town will be running a free shuttle from the Henry Street Parking Lot to the festival and back, with a stop at the Whitby Public Library. Other accommodations at the festival include accessible parking and a quiet “Sensory Space”.
The 2026 edition of the Home Sweet Home Festival will take place on July 25 in downtown Whitby. Admission will be free for all visitors.
