Spaces available in Whitby dementia experience tour

An upcoming Whitby activity will help the public learn about one of the illnesses that may come with going older.

The Alzheimer Society of Durham Region will be offering spots for the Virtual Dementia Tour, which may be a valuable learning experience for almost anyone to attend. It will be taking place at 1600 Stellar Drive in Whitby, and time slots must be booked in advance.

During the session, each participant will individually be fitted with an assortment of gear that can simulate the experiences of someone living with dementia. This will impact the wearer’s sight, touch and hearing, and at the end of the experience, they will be invited to discuss their views and if, and how, they have changed.

A virtual reality session like this offers an opportunity for people to walk in another’s shoes. A poster printing company will be happy to help get the world out of the public about an upcoming activity like this that may be of interest to them.

The Virtual Dementia Tour will be on offer for Whitby residents on Tuesday, March 28th. It is free to reserve a spot, and the tour is set to run for approximately one hour. The organizers can be reached by phone for anyone who has questions or would like to make a group booking.
