US subsidiary arrives in Newmarket

Vitapath, a subsidiary of US company Vitamin Shoppe, has decided to open two new Canadian stores as part of its larger expansion plan north of the border.

Newmarket and Leaside will be the sites of the two new pilot Vitapath retail shops and additional stores are expected to be opened later in 2013. The new Vitapath banner in Canada may create plenty of advertising opportunities for local printing companies to promote the US retailer’s products.

Specializing in nutritional supplements, vitamins, minerals, sports nutrition and homeopathic beauty aids and remedies, the Newmarket and Leaside locations will stock more than 6,300 products from over 300 brands, including the chain’s own label.

In addition, Vitapath will offer professional in-store assistance, with certified nutritionists and health practitioners on hand to recommend suitable products. The store’s regular associates also promote the chain’s focus on healthy living, with the store’s sales assistants known as 'Health Enthusiasts’.

The desire to make the two Canadian pilot locations as successful as the 570 retail locations in the US will mean that plenty of promotional opportunities will exist, especially in the form of Print advertising. This can be used to encourage local shoppers to visit the new stores and take advantage of high quality products on offer at store opening prices.

Flyer printing which details many of Vitapath’s diverse products, including selections from its private label brand, is likely to become an important part of its advertising platform as it prepares for its grand-openings.
Vitapath has not yet specified the additional locations expected to open later in 2013.
