The Catering for a Cause fundraiser will be returning to Newmarket for its first annual edition, allowing attendees to enjoy a meal while supporting a good cause of their choice.
The event features a variety of dishes prepared by A Million Mouthfuls Catering in buffet style. The company is owned by chef Anne-Marie Million, and features diverse culinary tastes. There will also be live music by local artists and raffles for prizes donated by community organizations.
Attendees will also have a say in what charitable cause the event supports. The top three charities voted by the community will give a presentation, and visitors will vote on who takes home the money at the end of the vote. Additional votes will also be available for purchase, with proceeds going towards the overall pot.
Catering for a Cause has been a repeat sellout event and raised over $50,000 across its first three years. Last year’s charity finalists were the Newmarket Veterans’ Association, York Region Food Network, and Newmarket Food Pantry, and the event featured music by Bianca Rollo. Charity events such as this often use methods like brochure printing and visual displays to help highlight any causes being supported.
The 2026 edition of Catering for a Cause will take place on the evening of May 27 at the Old Town Hall in Newmarket.
