One of Newmarket’s most popular spooky season activities, the Haunted Halloween Trail will be back this October to scare and delight.
The attraction transforms a kilometre of trail into an outdoor haunted house, with eerie decorations, lighting, and sound effects. There will also be live costumed characters looking to put a fright into visitors. The Halloween Trail is recommended for those aged 10 and up. The Trail will also feature vendors from local businesses offering refreshments and other items.
The Trail was originally offered on a first-come, first-served basis, but switched to a ticketed system last fall, and will continue with the system this fall. The tickets are sold for $5 and aim to reduce lines and overcrowding. Visitors are also asked not to wear their own costumes or Halloween makeup, and to be respectful towards staff.
The Haunted Halloween Trail attraction will be collecting donations for the Newmarket Food Pantry, with bins available for non-perishable food items placed by the Town of Newmarket booth. The trail is hosted annually with the support of volunteers and local businesses. Attractions like this often use tools like banner printing and signage to recognize contributors as well as set a festive atmosphere.
The 2026 Haunted Halloween Trail will be open on evenings from October 22 to 24, along the Dave Kerwin Trail at Newmarket’s Environmental Park.
