Newmarket summer concerts to pay tribute

The Newmarket Music Series will return this summer, with tribute acts dedicated to some of music’s biggest icons.

The series will run weekly and be free to all attendees. The festivities will kick off with Epic Piano Men, a tribute to the music of Elton John and Billy Joel, with touring artist and Matthew Good collaborator Jesse Karwat opening the show. The following weeks will include tributes to Prince, Bruno Mars, and Phil Collins. Some concerts will feature a more general theme such as Country Night or Pop Girl Era.

Each concert will also feature an opening band, ranging from original acts to fellow tributes like Sound of Sting and From The Hip. The series will conclude with an “Ultimate 80s” show by George St. Kitts. Tribute concerts like this often use familiar images and costumes on poster printing and other advertising to help attract fans of the original artist.

Listeners are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the outdoor show. The town will also be operating a Backstage Lounge area where guests can watch the concerts on a screen on provided Adirondack chairs, for a more comfortable and relaxed environment. The Newmarket Water Feature will close each concert day in preparation for the show.

The 2026 Newmarket Music Series will take place every Thursday from July 9 to August 20 at Riverwalk Commons.
