Newmarket fun run to hold finale

The Jelly Bean 5K run will be holding its tenth annual edition in Newmarket this November, which it has also announced will be the event’s last.

The run is hosted by Newmarket Road Runners and challenges participants to tackle a five-kilometre distance through across the scenic Tom Taylor Trail. For the first and only time, this year’s race will also include a one-kilometre Kids Fun Run event for children. The finish line and aid stations will, of course, include plenty of jelly beans for runners and spectators alike.

The fastest 3 male and female finishers will receive awards and special prizes, including sparkling earrings and personal jars of jelly beans. All participants will also receive a finisher medal and a race kit including a bib, branded gloves, and other items. Community runs and similar events often offer special Promotional Products and clothing items to help commemorate the occasion.

Funds raised through the Jelly Bean 5K will go towards LOFT Community Services. LOFT provides housing, addiction support, and mental health services for those in need in Ontario, supporting over 19, 500 people. The theme aims to create a friendly atmosphere, and runners are invited to aim for a top finish, chase a personal best, or just have fun.

The 2026 Jelly Bean 5K will take place at Fairy Lake Park in Newmarket on the morning of November 8.
