Two events, both aimed at women from the Newmarket area, are coming up next month to help raise funds for the The Women's Centre of York Region (WCYR).
The WCYR provides counselling and support for women in difficult personal and financial situations.
First, the Artists Salon and Spa is presenting the fourth annual Style for a Cause event. Women will be pampered with hair and beauty services and will have get opportunity to have a professional glamour photo taken. In addition, there will be gourmet appetizers, raffles, door prizes and a prize wheel game. More entertainment will come in the form of live music and silent auctions. All money raised will go to the WCYR.
Wheels, Deals and High Heels will take place in Keswick on June 11. It will feature hugs from firemen, silent and live auctions, goody Bags for the first 200 guests and showcases from local female-led businesses.
The businesses showcasing their products and services will likely come from all over York Region, including nearby Newmarket. Many will be investing in services such as flyer printing in order to advertise their involvement to the community.
