Traditional craft show to return to Newmarket

The Old Fashioned Christmas Craft Show will be holding its 10th annual edition in Newmarket this December, celebrating a decade of traditional holiday cheer.

This year’s edition has been labelled “Joan’s Show”, in honour of the show’s founder and proprietor of Joan’s Dolls. There will be over 70 local businesses, crafters and artisans, including Greenly Skin Care, Happily Ever After ornaments and Kanzashi by Annette hair and fashion accessories. The show focuses on providing unique holiday gifts and decorations, but features a wide variety of products.

The market area will also feature prize giveaways every hour in addition to a grand prize draw. There will be music provided by live performances and a “North Pole Radio” broadcast. The grounds will also feature a Christmas Café with coffee, tea and snacks provided by the Newmarket Swans club. Visitors are invited to sign a card for seniors who may be isolated during the holiday season.

The Craft Show also provides holiday activities for children and the whole family. The annual event is run by the Grandparent Connection, an organization of seniors that runs numerous community initiatives. Markets like this often use flyer printing, social media and other grassroots marketing methods to reach a local audience.

The 2025 Old Fashioned Christmas Craft Show will take place at the Newmarket Community Centre on December 6.
