Tenth Anniversary of ESSO Rebecca Run for Spinal Muscular Atrophy

The Newmarket ESSO Rebecca Run for Spinal Muscular Atrophy will have poster printing done to advertise the event by a printer located in Newmarket. Newmarket will host the ESSO Rebecca Run for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) on July 9, 2011. This year’s event marks the tenth anniversary of the run. There will be many fun activities at this year’s event, including face painting for the children and a barbeque which will be held after the run. There will be three runs for participants to enjoy.

For children ages 12 and younger, there is a 1 km. 'Scamper', which will have no time limits. To run in this event, participants will need to be registered, and a mandatory will need to be signed.

A 3 km. run/walk will be part of the event. Those in this run will be covering a 1.5 km. loop twice. It will not be a timed run, and wheelchairs are permitted in the 3 km. run/walk.

The remaining run is a 5 km. run. It is formed by a bike path and trails that surround Fairy Lake. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. This run consists of some gravel, a path that is paved and a portion on a wooden boardwalk. Wheelchairs are not suitable in the 5 km. run.

Teams are welcome in the 5 km. and 3 km. races. They must register by June 9, 2011. Teams are to be made up of five or more people.
Poster printing companies in Newmarket will no doubt be contributing to promotional materials for the event, and those wishing to register will need to do so quickly - last year, the event sold out weeks ahead of schedule.
