The community in Newmarket is doing its part to combat homeless through the Freedom 55 Financial Hockey Helps the Homeless fantasy hockey tournament set to take place at Magna Centre in Newmarket this November. This fundraising event is in its second year and could use the support of local printing companies to ensure its success. This year the event will last for two days instead of one.
The extensive hockey tournament still requires four teams to fill an eight-team women’s division on the tournament’s final days. Setting the stage for the event will be a special treat - a Thursday night game between Toronto Maple Leafs alumni and the Canadian Women’s Hockey League all-stars.
The community event hopes to draw all Newmarket residents into pledging and participating in order to raise awareness and provide funding for homelessness in the community, as well as integrating adults and youths. In the entire region of York there are 300 homeless youths to only 17 beds.
Last year’s event raised $130,000 in donations for local charities that support the homeless. This year’s tournament could be an even greater success through extensive printed advertising throughout the region. Flyer printing and Posters can encourage community pledges and attendance at the fan-fest and exhibition game for higher donations.
The Freedom 55 Financial Hockey Helps the Homeless fantasy hockey tournament has been successful enough to extend well past the borders of Newmarket- similar events are also being held in the cities of Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, and Ottawa. It will all take place over November 15 – 16.Get a Free Quote for Posters
