The Town of Newmarket will once again be taking on a festive look to help celebrate the winter holiday season.
The Newmarket Riverwalk Commons will become a Winter Wonderland, with displays of thousands of twinkling lights strung through the trees and structures. The Tim Hortons Skating and Water Feature will be open for complimentary outdoor skating, and children can hop aboard the Tim Hortons Express for a ride through the twilight hours. During the event, Frozen Fridays will offer something extra special, with live music and hot treats to enjoy as well as the train rides and skating, and even Santa himself may stop by to visit with the children who come out.
The festivities are being offered through the support of Newmarket Nissan. Banners and other decorations for this type of event can be produced using materials that are durable enough to withstand being exposed to the elements.
The Winter Wonderland celebration will take place in the Newmarket Riverwalk Commons, which is located at 200 Doug Duncan Drive, starting on December 2. There is no charge for the skating, train rides and other activities. The event will run until January 8, with Frozen Fridays running from December 2 until January 6. Its hours will be 6:00 until 9:00 pm each evening.
