Newmarket will be kicking off another winter holiday season with an event that will delight young and old alike.
The annual Santa Claus Parade has been scheduled, and the guest of honour for the occasion will be the Big Guy in Red himself. Everyone is encouraged to bundle up in warm clothing and find a spot along the parade route so they can share in the excitement of the experience.
The procession will follow a route along Eagle Street and Main Street, and several roads will be closed to accommodate the activity. Canada Post will have staff on hand to accept letters for Santa, and a collection of non-perishable food items will be collected for the Newmarket Food Pantry.
To help make the activity a success, the organizers have explained that there are several positions that need to be filled, and they are hoping to hear from individuals who would be interested in volunteering to be the planning committee’s treasurer or Band Coordinator. There are also other volunteer opportunities available, and applications from those wishing to enter a float, band or group of walkers will be accepted. Letterheads, application Forms and other business Forms for a function like this can be prepared by Print shops.
The annual Santa Claus Parade will hit the road at 11:00 am on November 16th. Its listing on the City of Newmarket website can be consulted for additional information.
