Newmarket festival to showcase Ontario grown garlic

Across the globe, garlic is a popular ingredient in many dishes, and a Newmarket festival will pay homage to this Ontario-grown herb.

The Garlic is Great festival will celebrate the vegetable grown throughout the province. Visitors can be inspired by one of the onsite cooking demonstrations, enjoy one of the live musical performances and purchase an assortment of varieties of freshly harvested garlic to take home with them. They can learn how to create braided garlic and discover more about the benefits of eating this strongly flavoured food.

Along with taking part in the festival, those who come out will also be able to browse through the rest of the farmers’ market as well. They can buy everything from produce, to baked goods, to handcrafts, all while enjoying socializing with friends old and new and learning more about garlic. As the event is held outdoors a printer can supply signage that has undergone the lamination process so it will be protected from rain and other elements.

This festival will be held as part of the Newmarket Farmers’ Market, and will take place in Riverwalk Commons from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm on August 19. More details about the day, and a link for anyone who might be interested in lending it a helping hand, can be found on its Newmarket website listing.
