An upcoming festival will look to turn the Ontario town of Newmarket into a dog’s paradise this September.
The festival, punningly named ‘Newbarket’, will feature a variety of events and vendors catering to dogs and dog lovers.
One of the event’s main attractions is the Pooch Plunge, which provides an opportunity for dogs to play in a full-sized pool. For the more competitive types, there will be a ‘dock diving’ contest, as well as a lure course for dogs and their owners to demonstrate their agility and teamwork.
The diving competition will be hosted by Aqua Dogs, a nationwide organization that uses specialized equipment to judge winners. There will also be a children’s zone with inflatables and face printing for pet-loving kids.
Pet events like Newbarket have become increasingly popular, and provide an opportunity for local vendors and artisans who specialize in animal products to showcase their products and services. Newbarket is no different, and is being sponsored by Global Pet Foods. Products on offer could include specialty food, toys, and equipment.
