About 140 people recently came out to help a Newmarket couple celebrate a special day in their lives.
Groom Grant Broen and bride Kerry Monahan had an afternoon wedding on the ice, with the net normally used as a hockey goal serving as a makeshift altar and the groomsmen, instead of wearing the usual tuxedos, wearing Edmonton Oiler’s jerseys. Many of the men in the crowd also followed suit.
According to the couple, hockey is one of the reasons they got together in the first place. They met on an online dating site, and found themselves drawn together over their love of the sport. Many of their family members also enjoy hockey, so having their wedding at the rink seemed like a natural fit for them.
A Stationery printing company can be called upon to create printed materials that will perfectly suit the unique theme of a special event like this. They can produce Invitations, save the dates, and thank you cards, as well as decorative place cards, Menus, and other items that the couple would like to have.
Those at arena were surprised by the wedding request, but they put their minds to the task and came up with ideas of how to give the bride and groom a beautiful day that they will always remember. After the ceremony, the guests and the newlyweds enjoyed a reception at the Newmarket Community Center and Lions Hall.Get a Free Quote for Menus Get a Free Quote for Invitations Get a Free Quote for Stationery
