The CompassCon collectibles marketplace will be returning to Newmarket this fall, bringing together fans of many different hobbies.
The convention will feature a range of vendors from across southern Ontario. Items on sale include board and video games, comic Books, toys, and collectible cards featuring sports and other hobbies, with brands such as FunkoPOP and Marvel well represented.
Each paid entry will come with a raffle ticket, with winners receiving a $100 gift certificate to spend at any participating vendor. Children under 12 will be admitted free. The convention also invites participants to dress up as their famous superheroes, sci-fi and fantasy characters, and other pop culture figures. Past editions of CompassCon have featured special cosplay guests such as the Rebel Legion and Toronto’s “Dadpool.”
CompassCon is a pop-up convention that aims to provide high-quality marketplaces in multiple locations. This will be its second event in Newmarket this year. Conventions such as this often are often a place to find rare comics, toys, and Promotional Products from bygone eras. CompassCon also includes handmade arts and crafts, which could attract holiday shoppers. The event has promoted itself at similar pop culture conventions across Southern Ontario, such as Hamilton ComicCon and Cobourg ComicCon.
CompassCon will take place in Newmarket at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch on the afternoon of November 18.
