An event geared towards those who enjoy collecting trading cards and comics was recently held in Newmarket, and its organizers say it was a big success.
This is one of the few events of its kind that is regularly held in the local area, and Frank Williamson, who helped put the show together, said that it got a lot of attention. He reported that there was plenty of foot traffic through the venue, and those who came out spent a lot of time browsing through the cards and other items that were being offered up for sale.
Along with the cards, comics and other memorabilia, the card show, which took place at the Newmarket Community Centre, offered some extras. Hockey player Johnny Bower was on hand to sign autographs, and there were also door prizes and special giveaways for the kids.
Admission for kids and women was free of charge, and as part of the event’s opening promotion, there was no admission price for men either. A printer can produce custom designed Signs that can be used at such a function.
Mr. Williamson has plans in place to hold the shows every month, and according to its website, he hopes that the community will continue to show its support.
