Water conservation workshop planned for Waterloo area

An event has been organized by the Region of Waterloo, including other communities throughout the local area, that will give those who take part an opportunity to learn more about how conserving water can make good sense, both from a business and environmental standpoint.

The Water Smart Workshop for Business will give industrial, commercial and institutional facilities that are interested in reducing the amount of water they use information about how to lower their consumption of the valuable resource. Several speakers have been engaged to give presentations on a variety of topics, including performing a water audit, how companies can make use of the WET program, improving water efficiency in restaurants and other establishments and how to best make use of the different types of rebate programs that are available.

In addition to the speakers, the Water Efficiency Excellence Award will be presented to this year’s winner Opheila Guanglao, who is Capreit property management’s Conservation Coordinator. A company that creates customized Corporate Gifts can design and produce special awards for presentation during this type of event.

The conference has been scheduled for November 9 from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Holiday Inn in Kitchener. Tickets to attend have been priced at $15.00 each, and they, along with further details about the event, can be obtained by visiting its Eventbrite listing.
