Acclaimed astronaut to visit Kitchener area

After making headlines around the world, Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen will appear in the Tri-Cities as part of a special fundraising event for Kitchener’s THEMUSEUM.

Hansen recently was one of four astronauts on the Artemis II mission which travelled around the moon and set a record for the longest distance a human has been to the Earth. He is also the only Canadian to have travelled to lunar orbit. Hansen will be part of a keynote conversation in association with local experts, touching on his experiences in space as well as his past as a fighter pilot and becoming part of NASA.

In addition to general admission and discount tickets for students and use, the event, dubbed “An Evening with Jeremy Hansen” will include a VIP experience including front-row seats. The keynote will be followed by a post-event reception with Hansen, speakers and VIPs, including light food and drink.

Proceeds from Hansen’s appearance will go towards THEMUSEUM’s education programs, hosting exhibits and helping to provide a background for students in STEAM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) in Kitchener and surrounding cities. Fundraising events such as this often use methods like flyer printing and social media to reach audience members and donors.

“An Evening with Jeremy Hansen” will take place at Lazaridis Hall at Wilfred Laurier University on the evening of November 28.
