Olympian to make an appearance in Kitchener

Olympic cyclist and speed skater, Clara Hughes will be stopping by Kitchener this March on one leg of her upcoming bike ride across Canada.

The bike ride, called "Clara's Big Ride" begins on March 14 and is a 110 day ride across the country which will cover 12,000 kilometers. The ride is in support of Bell Let's Talk campaign to end the stigma of and to draw attention to support for mental illness. During the ride, Ms. Hughes will be making 95 community stops.

Grand River Hospital is hosting the Kitchener stop on the tour, called the Journey of Hope Party. It is being touted as a family party with lots of activities and refreshments. The host for the evening will be Angie Hill. Clara Hughes will also be speaking to the crowd about her ride and likely about her partnership with Bell Let's Talk.

For parties such as these, Kitchener printing companies are often approached to provide items to decorate the area. Decorations help to make an area seem more festive and they can include Posters, Signs and Banners. These may also be used to recognize any sponsors.

The Journey of Hope Party is taking place a Bingemans Marshall Hall on March 20 from 6:30 - 9:00 PM. Admission is free. To find out more information, call 519-749-4300 x3899.
