The Kitchener Blues Festival is returning to the city for the 12th time next month. The festival, which takes place over four days, is known to attract around 150,000 visitors every year.
The first event of the festival will be a fundraising kick-off show to be held at the OLG Clock Tower Stage in Victoria Park. Steve Earle and the Dukes and Wide Mouth Mason will be performing. On the same night, there will also be a launch party at the Walper Terrace Hotel featuring Irene Torres and the Sugar Devils and the Conor Gains Band. Guests will be treated to food and drinks and there will be lots of room for dancing.
The Blues Festival takes place at various venues throughout downtown Kitchener; mostly centered outdoors around City Hall and King Street. This year's performers will include Booker T. Jones, David Wilcox, Harrison Kennedy and Lighthouse. In addition to the performances, several vendors will be setting up shop on-site, selling food and souvenirs.
No doubt Kitchener printing companies will be providing organizers with items such as Brochures and Posters to help advertise the festival.
The Kitchener Blues Festival will take place from August 8-11 and admission is free for most events. The fundraiser kick-off concert will take place on August 8 at 7:00pm. Tickets are $130 including dinner and preferred seating, or $30 without. The launch party at the Walper Hotel will also take place on August 8 at 7:00pm. Tickets for this are $50.
