When choosing elements for a landscape design, trees are a long-term investment and it makes sense to choose a species and cultivar that is right for a particular location and property owner’s needs. A Kitchener workshop will explore this in depth.
Trees, whether they are coniferous or hardwoods, tend to live for decades. Knowing how big a particular variety can be as well as what it needs to thrive and the best conditions for its growth can help to ensure they will be healthy and beautiful, and these are some of the topics that are on the slate for discussion in the “Finding a Perfect Match: Right Tree for the Right Place” seminar.
The learners in the class will find out what trees are good choices for attracting birds, butterflies and other wildlife and also which offer floral displays, fall colour and other landscape benefits. Planting, feeding and pruning will all be discussed, as will choosing a location for a particular tree.
The facilitator for the workshop will be Adele Pierre, who is a landscape and design consultant and works with Reep Green Solutions. Basic tree care selection and care sheets can be helpful to those who take part in a class like this, and Stationery printers can supply them.
Kitchener’s Williamsburg Cemetery Dedication Centre is set to host this learning opportunity next Thursday, July 25. Tickets are on offer free of charge.
