Kitchener to send truckloads of support to Fort Mac

An initiative has been launched by a Kitchener area trucking company that it hopes will make life a little bit easier for those who have been displaced by the forest fires that hit Fort McMurray.

JBT Transport kicked off

its ‘Stuff a JBT Truck’ campaign, and it hopes that the public will be very generous. Contributions of everything from non-perishable food, to children’s clothing, blankets and more are being accepted. To make it easier for businesses to collect items in the workplace, the company has provided them with corporate bins where employees can drop off anything they would like to donate. They are also being accepted at the fleet office, which is located at 235 Waydom Drive in Ayr on weekdays from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.

According to Natalie Martin, JBT Transport’s marketing and social media coordinator, its management and employees wanted to lend a hand to the people in Fort Mac, and since it is a transportation expert, using its vehicles to ship supplies out to the city seemed like a good fit. She further noted that the company hopes that the public will be so generous that several trucks will be needed to transport all the supplies. Banner printing can be used to create Signs and other items that can help make efforts such as this a success.

The campaign will run until June 30th. Further details can be found on JBT Transport’s website.
