Kitchener to celebrate Food Revolution Day

Culinary enthusiasts in Kitchener are preparing for Food Revolution Day, which is coming to the area this May.

The event is aimed at convincing people to make healthier choices in the food they eat and to buy local produce whenever they can. It will feature several speakers from local organizations such as Run for Life, a meet and greet with award-winning chef Fitz “the Whip" Vanderpool, information booths from groups such as Sportco and Eco Eats, activity tables and games such as Dance Dance Revolution and Farm in a Box. Guests can also get to try out the Run for Life spin bike.

There should be something at the event to appeal to people of any age, it will also help to educate the public about their food choices and how they impact the community.

Local food, health and agricultural organizations will be providing information for those who are interested and Foodlink will be releasing its 2013 ‘Buy Local, Buy Fresh’ map. It's very likely any informational literature and maps will be printed with the help of Kitchener printing companies.

Booklets, Brochures and Flyers are inexpensive to produce but are invaluable when it comes to providing information for the public. People love to pick up freebies; they are light to carry around and the information contained within can easily be passed on to others once they are taken home.

Food Revolution Day will take place at the Kitchener Market on May 18 from 10:00am - 3:00pm. Admission is free. For more information, please contact Lisa McDonald at 519-742-5317.
