Residents of Kitchener who want to do a good turn for Mother Nature can do so by participating in an upcoming event that will make it simple to dispose of unwanted electronics.
The Electron Recycling Association works to help keep e-waste out of landfills, and it will be hosting a disposal day for the Waterloo area. A large assortment of devices will be accepted, whether they are working or not, and there is no fee for the service.
The organizers of the initiative have explained that items like old computers, phones, printers, headphones and circuit boards can be dropped off. Any items that can be refurbished will be donated to local charities and people in need, and any items that need to be disposed of will be recycled using sustainable and safe methods. The collection station will be open throughout the afternoon, and it will be set up in Waterloo Park’s West Gazebo.
Organizing an activity like this can benefit both residents and the environment, and placing Posters throughout the community will let people know how they can participate. A poster printing company will be able to prepare eye-catching materials to help spread the word to everyone in the local area.
The e-waste collection day has been scheduled for December 5th. It will begin at 12:00pm, and the final items will be accepted at 4:00pm.
