Fans of hand-stitched gloves will want to be sure they do not miss out on a workshop planned for Kitchener.
Over the course of two days, a group of learners will be preparing handmade leather gloves. They will do the stitching themselves, and they will be custom fitted, so they will be comfortable to wear.
The workshop will begin with the students selecting the leather they wish to use, and they will then stretch and cut it into a group of sections. As these will each be individually sized, they will be able to tailor the fit. Next, the pieces will be stitched using a thread and a glover’s needle, before the final results are lined, cuffed and finished. The instructor for the activity will be Kaspar Skinner, a leather worker who hails from Ireland and has a background in the production of custom leather goods.
This two-day class series is now open for registration, and the fee to participate is $449.62. To help make sure the products made in an event like this are correctly taken care of, the host may wish to order sheets that contain care tips and other information to give to each participant, and these can be ordered from Stationery printers.
Two Smiths has made plans to host this activity starting on April 10th, and it will continue the next day. Both sessions will run from 9:00am until 5:00pm.
