The 11th Annual Zonta Film Festival (ZFF) will showcase six films centering on women making change, being strong and inspiring others later this month.
Presented by the Zonta Club of Kitchener-Waterloo, the festival is one of the club's signature fund-raising events, with proceeds used to improve the lives of women and girls both locally and internationally.
Two films are to be screened each day, directed by women of vision and covering subjects that elicit emotion and spark conversation. From powerful fashion icons to how social media's fixation with beauty has become an obsession, they are documentaries that are aimed at moving viewers to challenge the way they look at themselves.
The multi-award-winning films, previously lauded at film festivals such as Toronto International Film Festival, HotDocs and more, will bring to the big screen some of the issues facing the world that media's filters often hide. Kitchener businesses can use graphic design to create powerful promotional materials that will put a spotlight on events such as this one to generate new interest within the community.
The 11th Annual Zonta Film Festival will take place at the Princess Twin Cinemas, in Waterloo, from April 27th to April 29th. Tickets are $15 per person/show. For more information about showtimes and trailers of all six films, festival goers can visit the ZFF website.
