Kitchener families who have concerns about their child’s language, behavior or other milestones may want to book an appointment for a free screening clinic.
The session is being offered by Waterloo’s Monarch House, and people are advised to do book well ahead of time. The appointments, which run for about 15 minutes each, will assess a child’s speech and other developmental markers to determine if there are any areas of concern. It can help them to determine if further evaluation is warranted, and this program is intended for kids from infants up to age six.
The clinic is run by a team of professionals in the field, including speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, and behavioral analysts. While there is no cost for this service, there are a set number of spots available and pre-registration is highly recommended. Those who do not register their child ahead of time may not be screened if the clinic is fully booked.
An event like this can both offer an early warning for parents if their son or daughter is experiencing delays, and it can also reassure them if the evaluation finds nothing wrong. Supplying the families that participate in this sort of activity with pamphlets, lists of support agencies that exist in their area, and other informative publications from a brochure printing company can help to make sure they are kept suitably informed.
Monarch house will be offering its free screening program on Thursday, June 27. There are several timeslots to choose from.
