Festival to celebrate local maple syrup harvest

Maple syrup was originally produced by First Nations peoples, and a celebration of this popular condiment is set to welcome Kitchener residents.

The community of Elmira boasts several sugar bushes, and those who attend the 2021 Maple Syrup Festival will be able to enjoy this sweet treat in a variety of ways. The festival is an annual event run by volunteers, and this year will see it return for its 55th year.

The activities on offer will range from doing some browning and buying at a craft market featuring local makers to enjoying freshly baked goods. A visit to a sugar bush is also on the agenda, and here, the public will be able to see how maple trees are tapped so that the sap can be harvested and boiled down into syrup, sugar and other items.

A community celebration like this can be a fun way to welcome spring, and a printer will be able to help by supplying banner printing and other Print services. These often play a role in creating a festive atmosphere and can be very budget friendly.

The 2021 Elmira Maple Syrup Festival will be welcoming the world on March 27th. The venue for the day will be 24 Church Street West. All ages are welcome, and the festival is free of charge.
