Kids from across Kitchener came together recently to take part in the area’s Easter Egg Hunt.
The damp and cool weather was not enough to keep the children from attending the event, which took place on Saturday, April 4th at Joseph Schneider Haus.
According to Sharon Maillet, who was the coordinator for the day, she estimated that there were over 100 people who came out to get involved.
The participants searched for plastic eggs that were hidden around the grounds of the historic property. They were collected by the kids, who exchanged them for eggs of the chocolate variety.
There were also a dozen special eggs hidden, which were dyed with onion peels and then had designs etched onto them using traditional Pennsylvania-German techniques. These could be exchanged for chocolate rabbits.
A Stationery printing firm can create printed advertisements, coloring sheets, and other items that make a day like this even more of a success.
This is the 20th year for the event, which sees volunteers hide thousands of the plastic eggs to be found.
Once the hunt is over, they carefully gather them up so that they can be reused again the next year. They also made sure that there grounds were safe for the participants, and that any trash or items that could be hazardous to the children had been cleaned up.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
