The two nights are part of the North American farewell tour of NOFX and will take place at Punk in Drublic festival, which shares a name with their most successful album. The quartet have been touring for over forty years and releasing fifteen studio albums, without ever signing to a major label. The group will be performing a different setlist each night, with over forty songs each consisting of hits, rarities, and full album sequences. Frontman Fat Mike expressed his goal of making each show unique:
“We’ve played over 2000 shows in 33 countries, in more than 300 cities and darn it…we’re a bit tired. One thing I know in my heart…this is going to be the most emotional, heartbreaking, greatest tour of our career.”
Each night will feature a different lineup of supporting acts, which include popular ska-punk group The Interrupters, fellow veterans Descendents, and Canadian favourites like The Real McKenzies and The Flatliners. There will also be a craft beer festival accompanying the show, with ticket buyers receiving three hours of beer sampling. Concert tours like this often use colourful flyer printing and radio advertising to connect with local music lovers.
The 2024 Punk in Drublic festival, featuring NOFX’s Canadian farewell appearances, will take place at Downsview Park on August 18 and 19.
