Upcoming run will help raise funds to fight brain tumors

The Spring Sprint, which is a fundraising event for the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, is taking place this April.

This is an event which takes place in several cities throughout Canada. The organization hopes to raise at least $1.7 million this year; the Toronto leg of the run has a goal of $225,000, of which more than 40% has already been pledged.

The Brain Tumour Foundation provides support and resources to patients and families, while it is also dedicated to finding a cause and cure by providing funds for research.

Those participating in the sprint can do so as individuals or teams, and they can choose to either run or walk the route. Teams are encouraged to design their own T-Shirts, and brain tumor survivors will be given shirts by the organizers. Participants are encouraged to gather pledges from friends, families, and co-workers to help the foundation reach its fundraising goal.

The shirts that will be provided to the volunteers and survivors attending the Downsview Park event may very well have been designed and created by local printing companies.

The Spring Sprint is taking place at Downsview Park on April 27th from 9:30am - 1:00pm. Participation is free. To find out more about this event or about the Brain Tumour Foundation, contact Sharon Whiteside at 1-800-265-5106.
