Print Companies in Downsview

  • 2012-09-26
Downsview traditionally was known as the home of the Downsview Airport before the facility was closed down by the federal government. Today, the area is known for the Downsview Park, one of the province’s largest urban parks at 231 hectares, located on the site of the former airport. The community of Downsview is one of Toronto’s many neighborhoods, located in the former city of North York. A robust employment sector has developed, including retail, wholesale, and offices. Print companies in Downsview are located in close proximity to the major employment areas, and can help companies with promotional material for products and services.

Although the Downsview Airport was closed, part of it is still used as a manufacturing and testing facility for airplanes.

Downsview Park has become a major facility to host large-scale entertainment events. In 2002, it was the host of World Youth Day. The following year, a major concert, Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto, was held in the park as a way to stimulate tourism after the outbreak of SARS in 2003. Major entertainers like AC/DC, Justin Timberlake, Rush, and the Rolling Stones were watched by more than half a million fans, setting a Canadian record.

Businesses large and small are found throughout Downsview. The lands surrounding the Downsview subway have been designated as high density, mixed use areas.
