Two music festivals are set to take place at Downsview Park this summer; Edgefest and the VELD Music Festival. Both will present a variety of local and national bands.
The 13th annual Edgefest is presented by radio station 102.1 The Edge; it is a leading festival for alternative music. The event, which takes place later this month, draws thousands of visitors to the city each year. This year, there will be 17 musical acts performing, including Mother Mother, The Neighbourhood, and Wake Owl. In addition, there will be a bar, food, and souvenir vendors.
The VELD Music Festival is taking place over two days next month. This all-ages festival is presented by Ink Presentations. It will feature artists such as Above and Beyond, Steve Aoki, Deadmau5, and Steve Angello. Festival merchandise, such as T-Shirts, hats, and bandanas, will be available for purchase online and at the event itself.
Both events will have special VIP tickets and benefits, including a bar and premiere seating.
Organizers are most likely working with Downsview printing companies to prepare for and to advertise the events.
Edgefest 2013 will take place on July 31, beginning at 11:00am. Tickets are $63.25 for general admission or $116.50 for VIP entry. For more information, visit the event’s website.
The VELD Music Festival will run from August 3 to 4. Tickets, which cover both days, are $206.57 for general admission and $322 for VIP admission; VIP tickets are only for those aged 19 and over. To find out more about the event, visit the official website.
