Fundraising festival will get everybody moving

The 17th annual Zareinu Moveathon Festival is returning to Downsview this June. It is a fundraising event for the Zareinu Educational Centre, which provides services to special needs children.

People of all ages will be able to participate in runs and bike rides. There will be a 5K or a 10K run, a 5K and 10K Kangaroo run in which participants wear ‘Kangaroo’ shoes, a 2K walk, a 20K family bike ride, a boys’ bike ride and a 1K kids’ run. Those taking part in these events are asked to collect pledges; those on bikes need a minimum of $250 in pledges in order to ride. Runners pay a registration fee of $72 or $250 in pledges, and everyone will receive a t-shirt.

In addition, there is going to be a midway, a petting zoo, inflatables, a kosher food court, and lots of family friendly entertainment to enjoy after the races.

Later on in the month, the Zareinu Ride will start off from Holy Trinity School. This bike ride will give participants a choice of circuits, from 25 to 100K in length. In order to qualify for this race, bike riders must raise at least $1,000 in pledges before taking part.

Downsview Print companies sometimes donate their services to fund raising events like this, which might include the printing of Banners and Posters.

The Zareinu Moveathon Festival is taking place at Downsview Park on June 8th, from 10:00am - 6:00pm. The Zareinu Ride is happening on June 22nd. To find out more about both events, call 416-661-1800 x228.
