Fundraiser for Hands Across the Nations in Downsview

The 10th annual Wine and Gourmet Evening is coming to Downsview Park early in April.

The event is a fundraiser for Hands Across the Nations (HATN) to support its projects in Bolivia and Mali. HATN is dedicated to helping the poor in developing nations in creating self-supporting communities.

The evening will feature gourmet food prepared by chefs from the Escoffier Society, entertainment, music from Bert's Kitchen, live cooking food stations, a silent auction, and several speakers. These will include John Moore from NewTalk 1010 Radio and Becky Kellar of Canada's women's hockey team, who is athree-time Olympic gold medal winner.

Local business owners from Toronto, Downsview, and other nearby areas will likely be donating items for the silent auction. Those businesses might want to work with local printing companies to let their customers know about their donation and about the event itself. This will probably have the result of encouraging more people to attend the event in addition to making the company look good.

Sponsorships are also available for $1,000 or $1,500, and sponsorship will result in being recognized at the event on poster boards, in a video presentation, on the HATN website, and in the program booklet.

The Wine and Gourmet Evening will take place at the Warehouse Event Venue in Downsview Park on April 5 from 6:30 pm - 11:00 pm. Tickets are $100 and corporate tables of 10 are also available for $1,500. For more information about the event or to donate items for the silent auction, call 416-297-7271.
