The Humber River is a Downsview area spot that is in need of some spring cleaning, and the community has been asked to pitch in with this project.
The Humber Valley Spring Cleanup will offer everyone who cares about the environment an opportunity to clean up the local beauty spot this May, and to help keep the function organized, the planners have asked everyone to RSVP ahead of time. There is no fee to participate, and staff will be on hand to help those who need it.
The public will be able to work from a canoe if they wish, and these will be supplied, along with paddles and personal flotation devices. They may also choose to walk the shore and collect litter and debris, and Bags and gloves will be provided for doing so. When it is time to take a break, the volunteers can enjoy some snacks and beverages.
An activity like this benefits the environment, and at the same time, it can help to raise awareness of a good cause. A banner printing company’s team will be able to prepare signage and other materials that can be displayed during the function to help to spread the word to the public.
The Humber River Paddling Centre is just steps away from the Old Mill TTC Station, and it will have a check-in kiosk set up for this function, which will be held on May 16th. All assistance is welcome.
