African violets and their allied plants have a lot of fans in the Downsview area, and a special show planned for next month will give them some extra time in the spotlight.
African violets and other species in the Gesneriad genus will be the stars of the show during the 2023 Toronto African Violet and Gesneriad Society Spring Show and Sale. This year's theme is “Break Out in Colour”, and it is open for all to attend.
The attendees will be able to view the plants on display, and there will be personnel on hand to answer any questions. The Toronto Botanical Gardens will be the location for the activity, and the various entries will be judged based on pre-determined criteria. People can choose to enter the African Violet Show, Gesneriad Show or both.
Along with the show, the function will boast a sales area. Here, the attendees will be able to purchase both plants and related accessories. A fee of 20 percent of the sales will be donated to the Society. The 2023 Toronto African Violet and Gesneriad Society Spring Show and Sale is scheduled for April 2nd. It will run from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.
