Downsview residents invited to join in the fun at PumpkinFest Toronto
Downsview Park is set to play host to an event that celebrates one of the most well known symbols of the fall season.
PumpkinFest Toronto will bring together people from all across the city in a spirit of fun and celebration. There will be pie eating, pumpkin carving, an antique car show, food to enjoy, games and contests a carnival complete with midway rides, bounce castles and other inflatables and even a pumpkin patch.
Kids can get ready for Halloween little bit early and join in the costume contest, as can pets, while the pumpkin bowling is intended to be more for adults. The kids can also participate in face painting, ride the Pumpkin Express train, take part in the arts and crafts, or catch one of the shows that will be featured.
There is no charge to join in the festivities, and the parking is also free.
According to Peter Gismondi, who is the co-organizer for the event, the festival was intended to bring together community members and celebrate the fall season, including both Thanksgiving and Halloween. Signs can be placed throughout the Downsview community that direct people to the park so that they can find it more easily fi they haven’t been there before.
