The GTA is set to host a schedule of movies under the stars, and Downsview Park will be the location for the screenings.
The venue, which is on the site of a cold war era Canadian air force base, has been converted into a city green space, and will be the location for a series of five movies shows outdoors after the sun has gone down. The lineup will be announced closer to its scheduled date, and the flicks shown will be suitable for all ages.
The curtain will go up at dusk on each of the nights, but those who would like to secure a good spot are encouraged to come early. It will follow a picnic-style format, and attendees are reminded to bring comfortable folding seating or a blanket to spread out. Advance registration will be required and the system for this will be open to the public a week ahead of time.
Outdoor movie nights offer a taste of a drive-in movie experience of days gone by. A poster printing company can craft cinema style marketing materials for such an event.
Downsview Park will be running its summer movie night schedule from July 12 until August 14th. They will be shown in the Lakeside area of the venue, which will be a different location in the park from previous years.
