Cambridges Goose on the Grand returns

The popular family event Goose on the Grand will return to Cambridge this June, with a number of eccentric goose and duck-themed activities.

The festival will include a Rubber Duck Race down the Grand River, with everyone hoping that their bath toy will be the one to reach the finish line first. Visitors can purchase ducks, and will receive a cash prize if one of theirs finishes in the top 10 among the 1400 rubber ducks that will be “racing” to the Main Street bridge. Proceeds from the sales go towards Rotary Cambridge.

There will also be much bigger artificial water fowl, including an 18-foot inflatable goose and the unveiling of twelve hand-painted, 4.5-foot tall Cambridge Geese fiberglass statues. Visitors can take pictures with these unique creations. The event will also include a hands-on paint experience for artists of all ages and a Mother Goose Story Time for young visitors.

Goose on the Grand will also include everything associated with summer festivals, including food vendors, live music by local artists, family-friendly activities, and displays from local community organizations. Outdoor community events like this often use methods like banner printing and speeches to help identify local sponsors and contributors.

The 2026 edition of Goose on the Grand will take place on June 14 at Mill Race Park in Cambridge. Admission will be free.
