The City of Cambridge will hold its annual 50+ Active Living Fair this October, looking to promote engagement in older adults.
The day will begin with a registered lunch and keynote address provided by the Ontario Caregiver Organization. The speaker will be Emily Ayenew, the organization’s Regional Lead for Western Ontario. The topic of the presentation will be “Exploring the Caregiving Journey”, introducing audiences to the organization and how they can better act as a caregiver for people in their life.
The main fair will include over 60 exhibitors, featuring community organizations, services, and products aimed at enjoying the later stages of life. Activities include a lawn bowling demonstration, a blood pressure clinic from Promyse Home Care, and a creative experience provided by the Cambridge Public Library. Exhibitors include the Ancient Mariners Canoe Club and PROBUS Club of Cambridge.
The free event will also include two scheduled presentations, “Legacy Planning Essentials” from local lawyers and “From Passenger to Driver Seat” presented by Independent Living Waterloo Region. There will also be a mobile food market representing the tastes of Cambridge. Exhibitors at public events like this often use brochure printing and other handouts to better explain products and services.
The 2026 50+ Active Living Fair will take place at Beehive Hall in the Hespeler Arena on the afternoon of October 1.
