An upcoming fundraiser for the Museums of Burlington organization will aim to bring back one of Burlington’s most historic venues for one night only.
The event is named An Evening at the Brant Inn, after the famous venue that attracted big names to Brantford from the 1940s through the 60s. Set dressings and entertainment will attempt to replicate the time period. The Smooth Blend Jazz Quartet will be taking the stage to provide the sounds of classic swing and jazz music, while danceScape will be providing lessons and demonstrations on the dance floor, teaching steps and dance styles associated with mid-century swing.
Visitors to the dinner will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, drinks and a three-course dinner, with a choice of entrees including chicken piccata, sirloin steak, and tomato risotto, each with paired wine available. Visitors are encouraged to dress in period fashion and embrace the nostalgic atmosphere.
Funds from ticket prices will go towards the Museums of Burlington organization, which helps preserve local history and provides educational programming within the city and beyond. Fundraising events like this often use speeches and brochure printing to help better explain the cause they are supporting and how people can contribute, as well as shouting out local sponsors.
An Evening at the Brant Inn will take place on October 4 at the Holiday Inn Burlington Conference Centre.
