Burlington troupe to present Canadian company

Theatre Burlington will be continuing its emphasis on Canadian-written plays this spring with its presentation of curling-themed comedy Hurry Hard.

The play’s plot will is about a curling team that is divided by a divorce, and later come together to face each other in a regional bonspiel. The play is written by Kristen Da Silva and won an award for the best new Canadian comedy upon its premiere in 2019. Promotional material describes the show as a:

“laugh out loud play about friendship and finding new love.”

The Theatre Burlington staging of Hurry Hard will be directed by Jerrold Karch and produced by Julie Donoahue, with cast and crew selected through local auditions. The play will run across three weekends, with three Sunday matinee shows. The show is appropriate for all ages, with discount tickets available for seniors 60 and over.

Hurry Hard is the third Canadian-written play produced by Theatre Burlington as part of their 2025-26 season, following productions of The Birds and the Bees by Mark Crawford and Mary’s Wedding by Stephen Massicotte. The company will also be presenting the short play festival Playtime this summer. Community theatre productions often use program and brochure printing to highlight contributors and upcoming productions.

The Theatre Burlington production of Hurry Hard will take the stage on select dates between April 17 and May 2 at the Drama Centre.
