Burlington’s Royal Botanical Gardens will hold a quartet of outdoor musical performances through its Concert in the Garden series this summer.
The series will kick off with a performance from classical vocalist Lido Pimienta, accompanied by the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra. Pimienta is a multidisciplinary artist who is known for combining classical music and dance with her Afro-Indigenous ancestry. The concert series will continue later in July with a performance by Montreal-based duo The Barr Brothers, performing songs from their new album “Let It Hiss.”
Area jazz ensemble BadBadNotGood will play the Garden on August 20, featuring jazz covers of popular songs with sonic inspirations ranging from 70s soul to experimental electronica. This year’s Concert in the Garden performances will conclude with a visit from avant-garde pop musician Patrick Watson, known for his work in film scores.
All shows will include seating as well as a general admission lawn area. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for sitting. There will also be food and drink available from local vendors. Outdoor concert series like this are popular in many municipalities, often using methods like poster printing and radio advertising to connect with local music lovers.
The 2026 RBG Concert in the Garden series will take place at Hendrie Park on select dates from July 9 to September 25.
