Vancouver workshop to discuss food businesses

A Vancouver workshop that may be helpful to those considering starting a food processing business is open for registration, and it will be offered in late January.

The two-day learning activity will help both newbies and experienced food growers and processors to maximize their earning potential. It may also be of interest to those who run a farm or other agricultural operation, and tickets are priced at $100.00 each.

This educational opportunity will explore a variety of ways to add more value to a food product. The first day will cover topics such as business planning, marketing and product development, quality management and Packaging. Day two will introduce the economics of production, shipping and logistics, finances, and resources and support. The presenter for the class will be Greg McLaren, a Chief Strategist with Farm Food Drink.

Each registrant for the series will receive a comprehensive set of learning materials, as well as snacks, lunch, beverages and other items. Promotional Pens and other branded items are sometimes distributed at workshops.

The 2 Day Food Business Planning Workshop will begin at 9:00 am on January 22nd. It will continue on the next day, and the venue can be found at Commissary Connect, which is located at 1605 West 5th Avenue in Vancouver.
