Vancouver organizes botanical painting classes

Vancouver’s Green Apple Art Centre is set to open 2026 with an art class series that will be focused on flowers and foliage.

The registrants in the Floral Acrylic Painting short course will be getting the inside scoop on creating botanical paintings using acrylics. It will include instruction in both technique and colour theory, and it will be delivered in English.

The course will run for a series of five classes and they will take place on Monday evenings, each two hours long. The students will discuss techniques that can be used to create realistic-looking petals, foliage and other plant parts, and everyone will work from both photos and living specimens. The course is intended for adults, and a list of materials has been prepared so the registrants can shop for them in advance. Materials required include acrylic paints, two canvases, a brush set and palette paper.

A course or workshop like this provides an opportunity for attendees to pick up new techniques. Stationery printers can prepare materials lists, as well as waivers, registration Forms and other items required for similar events.

The Floral Acrylic Painting workshop series is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 12th. Each session will start at 6:30 pm sharp, and tickets start at $253.00. The venue for the classes can be found at 2150 West Broadway.
