Vancouver venue runs flower crown workshop

Flower crowns have been a tradition in Nordic countries for many years, and an upcoming Vancouver class will teach how to craft one of these seasonal accessories by hand.

The Midsummer Flower Crown Making Workshop planned by Pretty Dead Taxidermy will transform fresh flowers and other materials into floral crowns, and the registrants are encouraged to bring their own small talisman to incorporate into the final design. Tickets are $140.00 each, and there are a limited number of spaces available, which are expected to be snapped up quickly.

The guide for the activity will teach attendees how to use the foliage, flowers and bones provided to craft their crowns, and while they do, they will learn about the history of flower crowns and the lore behind them. Traditional Scandinavian techniques will be used, and everyone can take their project home with them. The class runs for four hours.

Small businesses that offer hands-on crafting workshops and classes can order waivers and Letterheads, as well as a full line of marketing materials, from area Stationery printing companies.

The Midsummer Flower Crown Making Workshop will run from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 15th. Tickets to be part of the activity may be purchased through Eventbrite, and Pretty Dead Taxidermy can be found at 2333 Ontario Street in Vancouver.
